College students turned church-planters

Thirty years ago, God got a hold of a wild, talented college student named Jimmy.

Because of this, Jimmy left behind his old ways and pursued Jesus.

He shared the gospel everywhere he went: from his fraternity to the jungles of Papua New Guinea.

Soon he began to disciple college students and graduates.

He believed that one person discipling another—teaching them how to seek God, share the gospel, and make disciples—could change the world.

Jimmy’s passion turned into a local church and, eventually, a church planting movement.

This movement has produced 30 church plants in the US and over 60 partnerships in 35 countries around the world!

Many people at work in the movement today began simply as messed up college students whose lives were rocked and went on to plant churches from San Diego to Sri Lanka—some even faced prison time because of the gospel.

Where are they now?

I decided to pull together a handful of these former college students and ask them:

  • Where did it all start for you?
  • What did God do through you?
  • What would be your challenge to the upcoming generation of college students?

The video you are about to watch is 15 minutes of raw conversation among a few former and current students who are committed to taking up the torch.

I pray your hope explodes as you witness what can happen when Jesus gets a hold of the one you would never expect.

No matter what age you are, may we all choose to sign up again!
