Olan went to Samford planning to go into full time ministry. He soon got involved in Campus Outreach during his freshman year, coming on staff as soon as he graduated in 1998. Olan is now the director of Campus Outreach Birmingham, Alabama, at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He is a husband and father of four.
